A year and a half ago I fell in love with Vancouver Island. Lucky for me I have some sweet friends there whom I’ve been able to visit a couple of times and am making new ones every day I mingle with the locales. Truly some of the most interesting, warm and compelling people I’ve ever met.
I’m letting the photos do most of the talking in this one. Most of the photos are from one afternoon of hiking around the mystic waters and moist low tide areas near Fanny Bay. The surrounding woods offer endless chaos for me to frame and attempt to make sense of. I’m attracted to finding natural patterns, textures and juxtapositions in the most tangled of places.
Better than sex and the closest thing to it I’ve found in some time.
My favorite gate
Found it this way
His wife makes jelly while he jams
I never sat here but wanted to
Fanny Bay Inn open mic night
Low tide yet beautiful
and here I’m more interested in staying
Possibly my favorite log in the world
No idea, don’t eat them, just find them fascinating
Last night this dog was at the bar, this morning, my first mate.
Imagine living under the stars on the water … I can, have, will.
Checking ID at the FBI
Full blown Fall in BW
I watched this guy get drunk off this
Persistance is right.
This is why I didn’t sit anywhere
The road to Nanaimo, BC is wet but worth it.
